New Reflections - Clubhouse Team
New Reflection House is a community based rehabilitation program for individuals with long-term mental illness. It provides a supportive and accepting community in which members gain a sense of belonging and accomplishment through meaningful work relationships. The clubhouse is designed to integrate its members into the community and assist them to achieve the life's ambitions.
Member Support
Within the clubhouse setting the educational, housing, social, and
vocational needs of our members are met through mutual support and extensive
resources. All members of the New Reflection House are needed, wanted, and
expected daily. Members and staff work together as colleagues in an atmosphere
of mutual caring and respect.
The Work-Ordered Day
The work-ordered day engages members and staff together, side-by-side,
in the running of the clubhouse. All clubhouse work is designed to help members
regain their self-worth, purpose, and confidence. New reflection House focuses
on the strengths, talents, and abilities of its members and gives them the
opportunity to participate in all the work of the program.
Activities
New Reflection House has recreational and social programs during
evenings and weekends. Major holidays are celebrated on the actual day they are
observed. These activities give the members the opportunity to socialize and
build relationships with other members and staff of the clubhouse.
Employment
The employment program enables New Reflection house members to return to
paid work through transitional and independent employment. Members obtain
confidence, self-respect, and vocational skills through community-based
employment.
TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT is a work training program that provides members with part-time, entry-level job placement with local businesses. The clubhouse provides support on the job according to the needs of each individual.
INDEPENDENT EMPLOYMENT New reflection House assists members to secure, sustain, and upgrade their own employment.
Community Support Needs
New reflection House assists members with entitlements, housing,
advocacy, personal finance, and daily living skills. Members of the clubhouse
are also helped to secure quality medical, dental, psychological,
pharmacological, and substance abuse services in the community. The educational
program offers a supportive environment where members can receive one-on-one
scholastic help, support, and encouragement.
New Reflection House is a certified members of the ICCD, an international network of Clubhouse model programs with more than fifty years of experience in rehabilitation.
