Prevention Summit 2000 is a community conference planned for Fall 1999 designed to educate and increase awareness of community risk and protective factors with regard to prevention of substance abuse and violence. Specific workshops will include media literacy, parent-teen communication, current issues in drugs and crime, community resources and alternative teen activities co-sponsored by area school districts and Valley Mental Health - Summit County. The conference is a one-evening workshop which dovetails Prevention Dimensions Teacher Training and is open to the public with workshops targeted toward parents, community members, and middle and high school students.
