Prevention Dimensions Teacher Training and Technical Support

Summit County School District personnel and volunteers are trained in the Prevention Dimensions resource curriculum which focuses on substance abuse and violence prevention through the development of healthy life skills, self-esteem, resiliency, and social bonding. The training is designed primarily for classroom teachers, but general prevention concepts taught can benefit all individuals working with students.. All school district teachers, volunteers, and school personnel are invited to attend and are given hands-on training and tools to use in the classroom to implement prevention concepts. Administrators target new or untrained employees to attend annual trainings. The training is organized and facilitated by Valley Mental Health Prevention Specialists, with outside guest presenters from the community.
