Purpose:
1. The Anger Management Group is a series of classes offered to the
community to reduce conflicts from anger problems within families and the
community and improve individual coping skills. This group is for both
voluntary and mandated adults.
Objectives:
Curriculum is focused on building skills to:
1. Improve ability to identify and verbalize feelings in healthy ways.
2. Improve ability to identify and manage stress.
3. Understand issues of power and control.
4. Improve ability to manage anger.
5. Improve ability to resolve conflict.
6. Learn effective communication methods.
Evaluation:
1. Pre- and post-testing will be used to determine baseline and progress
made/skills learned.
2. Homework assignments and discussions will also help determine progress
made.
Methods:
1. A series of six 1-1/2 hour classes, offered weekly, on a
rotating basis.
2. Classes are taught by Prevention Specialists or Therapists.
3. Clients are voluntary or mandated and attend as needed or as referred.
4. Group rates apply.
